InSPIRIT Button Designs
InSPIRIT Button Designs is an inspirational button company offering original and
customized pin back button, keychain, magnet, mirror and jewelry designs with an edge. The idea for the company was conceptualized in March 2011 after owner/designer/artist Ginger Smith took a course entitled Faithworks at her church Enon Tabernacle BaptistChurch in Philadelphia. Some initial slogans included "Think it, Believe it, Say it, DO IT, Praise, got GOD? and Flowing in the Spirit. Her vision was to create a unique button line with simple but meaningful catch phrases to inspire and uplift the individual wearing the button as well as those that would come to admire them.
InSPIRIT then expanded to also include button jewelry (earrings, rings, necklaces and bangle bracelets). Some of these designs are part of a specialty line, entitled
"O.B.D." or Original Black Divas- paying homage to the pioneering, trailblazing
women of color throughout the film, music and fashion industries such as Lena
Horne, Naomi Simms and Dorothy Dandridge just to name a few. The black and white and rare to find photo images are an added touch in giving the pieces a
true-vintage look and feel.
The buttons are 1 1/2 inch (small) or 2 ¼ inch (large) in diameter and are printed with vibrant colors as the backdrop to the designs. Throughout the 2011 holiday season, InSPIRIT was excited to unveil a 2 1/4 inch compact pocket mirror that made excellent gifts and stocking stuffers. Design options for the compacts are
limitless-as you can choose to add a personal photo or favorite quote to adorn
what is a uniquely different product rivaling your traditional store-brought
cosmetic compact.
With just eight short months in existence, InSPIRIT Button Designs has experienced both phenomenal exposure and growth. InSPIRIT was a showcased vendor at several summer events and venues including the B-Boy BBQ, Enon Tabernacle Church Bazaar & HustleJawn- an arts-based event for visual and performing artists of all disciplines. InSPIRIT was also commissioned to create several designs for local area businesses, family reunions, and charitable events including the Autism & Kidney Wellness walks respectively.
Looking to the future, InSPIRIT anticipates continued growth, increased web visibility and the development of new products. Conducting button-making workshops with youth, seniors and families impacted by homelessness is on the agenda. In addition, InSPIRIT plans to spearhead a button campaign to raise funds in support of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's interactive website, Kids
Health Galaxy.
