Buttons 2 Boost Button
A Campaign to support the Kids Health Galaxy Website
(The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia)
Years ago, I unexpectedly became a patient at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. It was discovered that I had a rapidly growing abdominal tumor and it needed to be removed almost immediately. This was a very frightening and intimidating experience. It is through God's grace in conjunction with CHOP's superior expertise and care that my surgery was successful and I was found to be cancer-free!
In preparation for my surgery, I received a kids coloring book which outlined the
process of admittance into the hospital, surgery, recovery and lastly discharge
aka "Going Home". With all the technological advancements since that time, CHOP now has an interactive website for children to view and explore- helping to educate and reduce anxieties associated extended hospital stays. Put yourself in the shoes of a child battling illness- enduring countless medical tests, examinations, surgeries, extended hospital stays-unable to be at home with their family or attend regular school, play with friends-live a "normal" existence.
Due to my personal experience coupled with my compassion for children, I am launching the "Buttons 2 Boost" campaign to raise funds in support of the Kids Health Galaxy website. God has given me this vision -for utilizing my new button business as a vehicle to sowing back into such a worthy and meaningful cause as this. The Button 2 Boost button will soon be available for sale with all proceeds going directly to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia- with specific allocation to the management, upgrade and sustainability of the Kids Health Galaxy website.
I have not set a specific monetary goal- partly because I don't want to put a
limit on what God can do. Once the campaign officially begins, it will run until
the month of December; it is my hope to then make the contribution to the hospital
sometime around the Christmas holidays. In conjunction with the funds,
another future project idea, involves you, YES YOU!!! creating bright and
cheerful button designs to adorned with messages of inspiration to lift the
spirits and put a smile on the faces of young patients at The Children's
Hospital of Philadelphia.
Stay tuned for more details as the vision becomes clearer. I ask for both your
prayers and support of this campaign and service project- which I actually
regard as more of a ministry if you will. There is nothing greater than the satisfaction of being of service to others and using your gifts to touch the lives of someone else other than yourself. I thank you all in advance and hope that you will be moved to participate in any capacity possible.
-Respectfully,
InSPIRIT
